Finding Articles in Databases
The Subject Guides & UCanSearch will identify articles in the Library's databases.
Some fulltext databases do not link directly to their full text articles from other online resources. This page contains instructions for finding an article when either of the following links go to the database search screen:
- the "Search for Article" link in a database or
- the linked database name on the "Journals, Newspapers & E-Books" results page
"Look Up Article" in the E-Journals & Newspapers search results will not work with any of the databases mentioned below.
Cochrane Library
- Copy the article title into the search box, located at the top left side of the screen
- Change 'Title, Abstract or Keywords' to 'Record Title' in the drop down box
EBSCOhost EJS
- Most EBSCO EJS links now go directly to the publishers Website, however if you see the message 'Available on Publisher's Site:', click on the Publisher's Site link to access the journal in full text from the publisher's Website
Lexis.com
- Select the 'Find A Source' tab, located at the top right side of the screen
- Type in the full journal name
- Select the journal link
- In the Search Terms box, type the name of the article
Newspaper Source Plus
To find a specific article in a particular journal:
- Go to Newspaper Source Plus in the list of EBSCOhost databases
- Type the article title into the Find box
- Change Default Fields to Title in the drop down box
- Click Search
OR
- Select the Publications tab at the top of the search screen
- Type the journal title in the Browse Publications box
- Click on the Journal Title to see the list of issues
Regional Business News
To find a specific article in a particular journal:
- Go to Regional Business News in the list of EBSCOhost databases
- Type the article title into the Find box
- Change Default Fields to Title in the drop down box
- Click Search
OR
- Click on the Publications tab
- Type the journal name in the Browse Publications box
- Click on the Journal Title to see the list of issues
Westlaw
If the title of the article is known: Brian Leiter. The end of empire: Dworkin and jurisprudence in the 21st century. Rutgers Law Journal. 2004
- Select World Journals tab
- In the 'Terms & Connectors' search box type: Title("end of empire")
- Select box below for 'Combined World Journals & Law Reviews'
