ITM offers a service for recording lectures in many Category A teaching spaces. When using the online lecture recording system, the lectures are recorded digitally using the Echo360 lecture capture system and made available for viewing via Moodle.

The recording captures the computer (in house or laptop), visualiser (document camera) & audio signals.

Lecture recording is available in the following Category A rooms:

2A6, 2A12, 2A13, 2A14, 2B2, 2B4, 2B7, 2B9, 2B11, 5C58, 6B10, 6B11, 6B45, 6C34, 6C35, 6C36, 7A52, 7B10, 7B13, 9A1, 12B2, 12B50, 14B1 and 22B19.

Presenters must wear the microphone in the venue for recording to occur.

Please note the following important information:

Copyright clearance

Lecturers are responsible for obtaining copyright clearance for any copyright material used and should be familiar with the Copyright legislation.

Access to lecture material

Upon successful capture & processing of a lecture, an automated email is sent to the presenter informing them the lecture is available for viewing/listening. A URL is included that the presenter may post on their Moodle site.

Recordings are accessed via the Echo360 block in the Moodle site for each teaching unit. Instructions to enable this function (PDF 287kB)

Information for students

The EchoSystem rich media player includes a full-motion replay of course visuals synchronized with the instructor’s voice for a highly engaging experience.

By using Adobe® Flash technology, students on Windows, Mac and Linux platforms can replay lectures on any browser without client software downloads.

Lectures are also accessible via iPod/iPhone & MP3 player.

Students access the recordings via the subject's Moodle site.

Removing or editing recorded lectures

Lecturers may make unavailable or delete lectures via their admin. account on the Echo360 server.

Basic editing may also be performed on presentations via the online Echo360 editing tool.
