Elections in 2003

According to the IRPS Constitution, election of Officers of the Society, including the President, the Secretary, the Treasurer and the Vice Presidents, will take place once every three years.

The terms of office for each of the eight Executive Councillors correspond to six years, the terms being so arranged that the terms of half of the councillors expire each three years.

A Nominations/Elections Committee has been designated in preparation for the next upcoming election in 2003. The members of the committee are

M.J. Farquharson (UK),          L. Gerward (Denmark),

R.T. Mainardi (Argentina),                   D. McLean (Australia).

The result of the election will be announced at ISRP- 9
in Cape Town, South Africa, 27 - 31 October 2003.

We hope that many of the present Officers and Councillors will continue to serve the Society, but IRPS members should think of possible new names for the 2003 election. In particular the need for female representation has been noted. In conclusion, we need to identify suitable candidates, who are willing to become involved.

If you have any comments or suggestions, please contact your nearest member
of the Nominations/Elections Committee.
