FROM THE EDITOR           Paul Bergstrom

I offer my apologies to the membership for my delay in preparing this edition of the Bulletin. We can all thank the gentle prodding of Shirley McKeown that it appeared at all!

In this issue we have several excellent reports from the membership. These cover the SESAME facility in Jordan and a report on last November's National Symposium on Radiation Physics in India. While a recent Physics Today article presents a less optimistic outlook for SESAME, projects like these make Radiation Physics truly international. Reports from local conferences, such as the Indian symposium also serve this purpose.

I stress once again that these reports are the warp and woof of this Bulletin and encourage everyone to consider contributing. Our President realizes this and has contributed an article on some recent, interesting scattering studies in addition to his column.

More space than usual is taken up in these pages for Society business. The President's column covers the past council meeting. Leif Gerward's piece discusses the upcoming elections and Dan Jones has sent us the First Announcement for ISRP-9. Please post this announcement in a conspicuous place.

Hopefully we will see you on the ballot and in Cape Town!
