Semesters, Winter Term, Principal Dates

The University of Canberra has introduced a three term year:

  1. Semester 1 (13 weeks)
  2. Winter Term (7 weeks)
  3. Semester 2 (13 weeks)

The three term year enables students to study additional units in the winter term or have this period away from study. It allows students to achieve a more suitable balance between work and study by combining part-time work with a full-time study load, or full-time work with a part-time study load.

The Winter Term provides a valuable opportunity for work integrated learning, studio learning, field studies, clinical placement and intensive learning. It helps students complete the academic requirements of their course faster, and enter the workforce sooner.
