Student Responsibilities
Help protect your use of the labs and increase their availability by observing the following:
- Do not open the door for unauthorised users. All authorised users should have their own pre-programmed student ID cards.
- Report equipment problems to the Service Desk so that corrective action can be taken.
- Do not attempt to install your own software on the lab machines; it may conflict with versions of the software already installed and can provide a path for software "viruses" to spread.
- Report any evidence of people tampering with the equipment. The selfishness of these people often results in other users being inconvenienced or having work destroyed.
- Have due regard for the rights of others. Do not interfere with their use of the facilities and keep noise to a minimum.
- Eating, drinking and smoking are prohibited in the labs.
- Use the facilities for University course related work only.
