Voicemail Services

The CallXpress3 Voicemail system is installed on all extensions on campus. This system allows each phone to be used as an answering machine. The Voicemail messages can be replaid from any internal or external phone with tone dialling.

If your handset has a message waiting light, the light will indicate when there are Voicemail messages waiting for your extension. A change in the dial tone also indicates messages waiting.

To use your phone as an answering machine, you must personalise your Voicemail and set up call forward options to transfer your calls to Voicemail (ext 2233) when required (always, on no answer or when busy).

To access the Voicemail system dial 2233.

An online guide to Voicemail is available. A Voicemail Quick Reference Card and User Documentation are also available and can be obtained from the Switchboard. If you have any problems using the system, contact the Switchboard Supervisor on extension 5101.

Telephone Fault Reporting and Installation Requests

Please contact the Switchboard Supervisor or phone extension 5101 if you have problems with the operation of University phones or when changes to extensions or new telephone installations are required. Requests for installation work must be authorised and submitted in writing together with a cost centre for billing.

Private STD, IDD and mobile phone calls can be made through the switchboard by permanent University staff, if prior arrangements for a private account are made. Charges for private calls will include a $1.00 administrative fee per call and will be billed by direct salary deduction.
