Computer Data & Video Projection

Permanent data projection facilities are available in the rooms listed in the Teaching Room Services and Equipment chart (PDF), but portable data projection units are available for use in other rooms. A guide on connecting your laptop to a data projector (PDF 287kb) is available.

Bookings are essential and may be arranged with the Audio Visual Booking Co-ordinator. A pre-test of equipment is advisable the first time you use a facility.

Computers in Lecture Theatres

Network connected PCs are equipped with the applications contained in the standard student lab image. To log in, use your staff network username and password.

Training in the use of Equipment

Arrangements for training can be made with the Booking Co-ordinator. Staff may be available to help on the spot, but there may be busy times when appointments are necessary.

Technical Assistance

All Category A teaching rooms are equipped with a telephone. Any problems experienced during lectures should be reported to Central Control in Building 10 on extension 5548. In most cases, these problems can be attended to immediately.

Telephones in teaching rooms cannot be used for calls outside the University, however they have access to 000 for use in an emergency
