Changes to Group Access for Shares should come from one of the assigned Data Custodians in the form of an email to the servicedesk/helpdesk.
Access will not be granted to any staff member unless a specific process is followed.
- If you require access to a share on Sahara you need to contact the Data Custodian for the share you require.
- You can determine who the data custodians are by checking with your supervisor, contacting the Help Desk on extension 5500 or by consulting the list below.
- The data custodian for the share will usually be the supervisor for the section the share relates to or the staff member responsible for maintaining the data on that share.
- You or your direct supervisor needs to ask that the Data Custodian requests access to the share on your behalf.
- This request must come from one of the data custodians via email to the Service Desk;
- And must include:
- Name of staff member to be added;
- their Staff Number;
- The name of the Server that the share is on (e.g. Sahara);
- And the correct name of the Share (eg Example$)
- The Help Desk staff will then log the job which will be actioned ASAP.
-
- After you have been added to the security group, you will need to log out and log back in before your access is updated.
A
list of shares is available to authorised staff.
