Email/Calendar Access on Campus

Email/Calendar access is provided via Microsoft Outlook (PC), Microsoft Entourage (Mac) or Microsoft Outlook Web Access(both).  These are the only supported methods of email/Calendar access on campus.

Email/Calendar Access from Off Campus

There are two supported off campus methods of access to your email/calendar:

  • via Microsoft Outlook Web Access or
  • contecting to your desktop email client via the VPN.

Both of these methods will generally allow you full functionality/access to your email and calendar.  There are some limitations in using Outlook Web Access on a browser other than Internet Explorer.  ICTS can provide advice in using both these methods.

Access through an IMAP connection on your home computer can be set up however this is not supported by ICTS.  You will require the following information:

  • Server: ucmail.canberra.edu.au
  • User Name: Your staff number
  • Password: Your UC network password
  • Port 993
  • SSL (use secure authentication)

This option is not supported by ICTS as it provides only limited functionality (generally no calendar access depending on your email client) compared to using the Web Access or VPN options.

Redirecting your Exchange email to another account

You can choose to redirect your UC account to another email account.  However, this must be done on campus using Microsoft Outlook.
