Obtaining a University Authority CertificateThe University of Canberra has a Certificate Authority Server which can issue electronic certificates to browsers (Internet Explorer, etc.) to allow encrypted communication between the browser and a secure UC network server, e.g. to access Callista. To obtain a University Authority Certificate you need to download it from the network. Although some browser versions will recognise a new Certificate Authority automatically, we recommend that you explicitly request the certificate. When prompted by your browser, accept the Certificate Authority as valid for all options presented (you will only need to do this once for any particular browser). In Internet Explorer 7: Obtaining a UC Network PasswordTo gain access to password protected network services, e.g. web access off-campus, you need a UC Network Password. If you don't have a password or cannot remember an existing one, please contact the Computer Centre Service Desk on extension 5500 to request a new one. Please note that you will usually be using this password in combination with your staff ID (Payroll number) as the usercode. Changing your PasswordAs soon as you receive it, you should change your password to something secure that you can remember. To change your password, logon to OPUS, select Personal Information and then select Change Network Access Password. Since password changes use the protected network services, please ensure that you have obtained a University Authority Certificate, prior to changing your password. |
