What is a project or change?
When a need arises for a new IT system or for an existing IT system to be modified, this work is known as a project or change.
How do I submit a project or change request?
To seek assistance from ICT Services to undertake work on a project or change you will need to complete an ICTS Change or Project Request Form below and submit it to the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office.
ICTS Change or Project Request Form
Please note that:
- The form should be submitted prior to the selection of a solution so that ICTs and the Project or Change proposer can work collaboratively to identify a solution.
- Working collaboratively has the following benefits:
-
- enables the identification of opportunities to share existing systems
- ensures that a final solution has the capability to operate effectively within the University's business and technical enviroment.
- enables sufficient time to plan the allocation of ICTS resources for the implementation of the final solution.
- Assistance in completing the form can be obtained by downloading the Companion Guide, contacting the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO) or contacting the EPMO office on either x5861 or x2981.
What happens next?
- A representative of the EPMO will contact you to discuss your change or project request.
- Following the discussion, the proposal will be referred to the Change and Project Advisory Board (CPAB) for approval to go to the next stage. If it is a large project, it will also be referred to the University Information Management Systems Committee (UIMSC).
- The EPMO will then assist you in preparing the full project proposal and advise you on the availability of resources to support the preferred solution.
- The full project proposal will then be referred to the Change and Project Advisory Board (CPAB), the University Information Management Systems Committee (UIMSC) or Vice Chancellors Group (VCG) for approval, depending on the cost and the resources required.
- On approval, responsibility for and management of the project passes to the Project Board and Project Manager. Resources can be assigned and work commenced in line with the Project Plan.
