PC Lab Facilities

Students are required to log on to PCs using their UCSTUDENT usercode and password.

NOTE: It is not possible to log onto the PCs in Buildings 8 and 10 using any other usercode and password other than a UCSTUDENT usercode and password. The UCSTUDENT domain is the only domain available on the PCs in Buildings 8 and 10 (other domains are visible, but not accessible).

Unplug Icon (PC)

Computer lab access is unrestricted to students during normal Service Desk opening hours, however a current, valid student ID card is required to gain access to Building 10.

NOTE: Students are required to carry their student ID card at all times.

 

Lab Machine Removable Media

10A1 20 x Pentium 4 with CD writers and floppy disk drives

10A2 20 x Pentium 4 with CD writers and floppy disk drives

10A3 20 x Pentium 4 with CD writers and floppy disk drives

Collaborative Lab 10 x Pentium 4 with CD writers and floppy disk drives

10A8 20 x Pentium 4 with CD writers and floppy disk drives

10A9 20 x Pentium 4 with CD writers and floppy disk drives

Thumb Drives

Before unplugging a thumb drive it must be unmounted by Windows. Find this icon (Unplug icon (PC)) in the bottom right hand corner of the screen, double click on it and the following window should appear:

Safely Remove Software

Select "USB Mass Storage Device" from the list, click Stop and then Close.

Note: Not all thumb drives will work, however most are compatible.
