Maintenance Windows
Maintenance windows are specific times during which some IT related services may be unavailable to staff and students so that maintenance can be performed.
Ongoing maintenance programs are necessary to ensure that IT services are secured and performing optimally.
Maintenance periods are deliberately selected to minimize the impact on staff and students and usually occur between the hours of 10:00pm – 8:00am.
Services that may be affected include:
- Internet Access
- File Sharing
- Email/Calendar
- Corporate Applications
- Web Applications
- Network Connectivity
- Printing services
- ID Card/Door Access
When a maintenance window has been scheduled, the date will be circulated via email to all users at least seven days in advance.
Occasionally it is necessary to undertake emergency maintenance resulting in unplanned outages. Should this occur, urgent notification is broadcast (e.g. via email, web and social media) to all users to ensure as much advance notice as possible.
