Health and Safety FAQ
1) What do I do if my office is too hot or too cold?
Lodge your complaint with Facilities and Services by clicking going to
http://www.canberra.edu.au/facilities-services/work-requests
Please use the new Work Request System to report all maintenance issues and / or requests for new work.
Upon selecting the link you will be presented with a log on screen. You will be required to enter your User Name and password to access the new request system. The username is your staff number and password is the same as your network password.
For further detail on using the new work request system please consult the following document.

Staff should note that contacting the Health and Safety Office in the initial instance will not lead to a quicker response from Facilities and Services.
2) When I have lodged a claim, what do I do about my leave?
You will be required to put leave in as normal on HR online, under Personal Leave and/or Annual Leave, pending a determination by Comcare on liability for the claim (If you do not have any leave available you will need to discuss this with the university's case manager). If the claim is successful leave will be re-credited and transfer to Compensation leave. When your claim has been approved you are still required to put compensation leave in on HR online including graduated return to work hours.
You are required to have a medical certificate to cover any compensation leave, including one or part day leave. Compensation leave is the term used for time off work for an injury or disease suffered in the course of work. While on compensation leave, long service leave accrues normally, sick and recreation leave accrues normally for the first 45 weeks but after that it accrues proportionally to the hours worked.
