Women's Group Mentoring Program
The Women's Group Mentoring Program is a long standing initiative of the University of Canberra to improve the skills and opportunities for female employees of the University.

Aim of the Program
The program aims to provide women with support for the achievement of their professional goals while building on the sense of community within the University. The University of Canberra is an EOWA Employer of Choice for Women and this program helps us continue to build on that commitment.
Program Benefit
This program benefits the University by:
- Developing the skills and confidence of our women
- Expanding the networks of contacts across faculties and business areas
- Facilitating tangible outputs such as research papers and project outputs
The program benefits participants by:
- Developing knowledge and skills to help you perform your current role and future roles
- Encouraging you to contribute to the university community and making this a better place to work
This program benefits supervisors and managers by:
- Developing the knowledge and skills of your staff
- Developing the internal networks of the university
- Providing your staff with additional positive role models
Program Focus
This program provides peer support and focussed group learning activities for academic and general staff. Previous participants have
- developed research plans and applied for grants
- clarified and mapped personal goals
- developed and strengthened UC networks
- improved knowledge of University structure and processes
- shared inspirational stories through initiatives such as the JIVE Seminar Series
Who can participate
This program is open to all UC female staff regardless of their current role as an Academic or General Staff Member. Each participant decides on the most relevant development areas given their current aspirations and skills.
