All new staff must complete this course and we recommend that existing staff refresh their knowledge by reviewing the course every 1-2 years.

Workplace Discrimination and Harassment - Legal Compliance Course

Free training available to all staff. This course must be completed by all new staff as part of probation.

About the course

This Australian course explains the rights and responsibilities of everyone at work under the anti-discrimination legislation.

The course is self-paced and interactive; participants will work through real cases to create an understanding of this complex area of the law, learn about relevant legal terms, answer questions and test their knowledge throughout the course.

The course material is authentic and based on actual Australian cases. This makes the course highly engaging and compelling for learners.

The course closes with an assessment, designed to assess the participant's level of understanding of the learning points covered in the course.

Learning Objectives

The course will assist participants to:

  • Understand the most important points of Australian anti-discrimination laws.
  • Know what is likely to constitute unlawful behaviour in the workplace.
  • Understand their legal rights and responsibilities.
  • Be aware of best practice in handling complaints.
  • Be able to make a positive contribution to the prevention of unacceptable behaviour in the workplace.

Duration

Approximately 2 hours (the course can be completed in more than one sitting).

Getting Started

To access the online course, please go to http://www.techniworks.com.au/unican then click on ‘Enrol’ in the left side menu and enter your data. You will receive login details through your email.

To begin the course please click on 'Login' in the left side menu and enter your login details.

On completion of the course, you should send the certificate to Human Resources with your Probation documentation. The certificate will be placed on your personal file.
