Cert IV Training & Assessment

The TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is the newly released industry benchmark for anyone responsible for competency-based training program design, development, delivery and assessment in the national Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector. This qualification replaces the TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and the previous BSZ40198 Certificate IV Workplace Training and Assessment.

This course is suitable for anyone who has responsibility for training in the workplace and would like to develop their understanding of how to improve structured learning for adults.

Who would benefit from this program?

This course is being offered to staff across the University but places will be limited. This course is appropriate for both Academic and General staff at the University of Canberra who have a responsibility for the training and structured development of others.

Who can apply to join this program?

The Certificate IV Training and Assessment qualification is open to Academic and General Staff who are employed by the University of Canberra on an ongoing basis, applications will be considered for Part Time and Fixed Term staff subject to approval by the relevant Dean/Director.

Places will be limited and so depending on the numbers of applications we receive, a selection process may be required.

How do I apply?

To apply this program please complete this application form (word 374kb) and return to Human Resources, Organisational Development as soon as possible 
The closing date for submitting the application is Friday, 27 May 2011.

Cost of the program

The University of Canberra has initiated this program as an investment in their staff and so there is no fee for you or your work area to pay. Organisational Development in Human Resources will pay the required study fees. You will be expected to buy any compulsory text books and stationary to complete the program but you will not be required to pay any course fees. Any teaching release or staff replacement costs will need to be taken into consideration by your work area when approving this study.

The cost to complete a similar program as a public participant would be approximately $5585.

Milestones for the Program

• Closing date for submitting the application is Friday, 27 May 2011.
• Public Course commencement dates will be determined and applicants advised as soon as possible.

Time commitment

The participant will attend a Public Course at AIM Canberra. It is anticipated that there will be 10 days face to face training (including 1 day assessment workshop).

  • Module 1: 3 days face to face workshop
  • Module 2: 4 days face to face workshop
  • Module 3: 3 days face to face workshop
