Get Real! is a collaborative project involving students in Creative Writing from the Division of Communication and Education, and students in Graphic Design from the Division of Health, Design and Science at the University of Canberra. Together they produce picture books for children and display these at a public exhibition in the University's Design Gallery. You will find information about the current year's activities via the Get Real! Now link. Initially there will be the barest of outlines, gradually supplemented with further details of artists and illustrators plus illustrations of work in progress, until full details are published after the public exhibition. Details of past Get Real! projects from 2000, including numerous illustrations, may be found through the Get Real! Retrospective page. How students participate from a pedagogical viewpoint is described on the Student Information page, which includes the latest copy of the Get Real! Student Project Guide. The illustration on this page is by Sarah Hay from 'Summerland' written by Rich Leask and exhibited at Get Real 2002. |
