Standard English requirements
UC has standard English proficiency requirements, as outlined in the tables below. For specific requirements for your course of interest, please check the course detail.
Courses with higher English requirements
UC also has courses with higher than standard English requirements. When applying for these you will need to provide evidence of meeting the requirements.
Other means of meeting English proficiency
If you are completing a program at UCCELC you will be given an IELTS (Academic) equivalent that can be used to satisfy the University's English language proficicency requirements. If you require an IELTS score greater than than 7.0 you will need to sit one of the recognised English Language Tests.
Admission to UCC diplomas for international students has a lower English proficiency requirement. Successful completion of these diplomas will satisfy the University's standard English language proficiency requirement.
English language study in Australia and overseas
If you have studied at English language institutes or at tertiary levels you should include all transcripts and certificates at your time of application to UC. The Admissions Office will assess these.
In the above 3 cases you will not need to undertake English Language Testing unless it is a requirement of your International Student Visa. For more information please refer to the Department of Immigration & Citizenship website.
