Research / Areas of Interest
Trevor’s PhD thesis evaluates changes in the concept of law catalysed by radical demographic transition. He is interested in how civil and administrative law issues surrounding childcare privatisation, employee pension benefit reductions, pension benefit division between divorcing spouses, and adult guardianship reflect the tension between liberalism and decentralised regulatory strategies to address demographic change. He is also keenly interested in private international law, Japanese criminal law, legal education, and family law.
Work in Progress
Trevor is currently converting his PhD thesis into a book, in addition to preparing his discrete PhD case studies for publication. He is currently researching East Asian trust law and the criminal trials of anti-whaling activists in Japan.
