Position
Adjunct Professor & Director of the Centre for Customs and Excise Studies and Adjunct Professor in the School of Law, teaching in the postgraduate Customs Law and Administration program.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Laws, Australian National University, 1982. Admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the ACT Supreme Court and a barrister in the Federal Court and High Court of Australia
Past Experience
Steve is a lawyer with particular expertise in customs, international trade and logistics, and regulatory compliance. He has had some 22 years experience in customs and international trade issues having previously worked in a number of roles within Australian Customs. At the time of his departure from Australian Customs Steve was a senior executive with national responsibility for compliance.
Teaching
Steve has been one of the principal lecturers in the Centre for Customs and Excise Studies since the inception of its postgraduate programs in the second semester of 2004. He also has extensive training experience as part of his involvement in a number of overseas consultancies relating to customs reform and modernization.
