Capital Region Mock Trial Competition

front

The Capital Region Mock Trial Competition is organised for  10, 11 and 12 year students enrolled at both government and non-government secondary schools (or equivalent) in the ACT region. It avails the participating students of an introduction to university and law school, as well as to the legal profession. While many participants are legal studies students, many others are just keen debaters or students of humanities. Generally, the competition is a great experience for all, helping students to clarify ambitions for tertiary education.

The Competition was initiated in 2007 in collaboration with the Business Educators Australian Capital Territory (BEACT), and has grown rapidly each year. The event series is hosted by the UC Law School, with trials taking place on the University of Canberra campus and in the state-of-the-art, nationally renowned University of Canberra e-Court, and culminating in a prize presentation ceremony in which all participants gain a strong sense of achievement - not to mention the fun of the competition itself.
