Dr Vikki Knott
Biography
Vikki Knott has considerable experience in the conduct of applied research within the areas of Health Psychology (Psycho-oncology, Chronic Illness, Gastroenterology) and also Industrial and Organisational Psychology (e.g., Occupational Health & Safety incorporating Return to Work, Stress, Workplace Bullying & Organisational Trust). She has co-authored several chapters in Year 12 Psychology texts on Stress and Health and has authored several key government reports in relating to occupational psychology, health psychology and psycho-oncology.
Most recently, she co-authored a report for Cancer Australia, entitled: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cancer Control Research Report. Vikki has also published several peer reviewed journal articles and has presented her research at numerous international and national conferences. She graduated with a PhD in Psychology (School of Medicine, University of Adelaide) in December of 2008. Her thesis focused on developing strategies to improve the management of chronic illness.

Research Interests
Currently, Vikki's research interests focus on application of health psychology to research in cancer and other chronic illnesses. Her interests span the illness trajectory from issues of screening/prevention, through survivorship and palliative care. Vikki is particularly interested in research that addresses the needs of the underserved such as Culturally and Linguistically Diverse and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
