Learning Resource Centre (12C26) (LRC) & Computer Laboratory (12C22)
The Learning Resource Centre in Nursing is designed for nursing students for independent study. Resources available include DVD's, videos, resources to enhance tutorial presentations, reference books, topic boxes and photocopying.
The ten PC computers in the Computer Laboratory provide Internet access, e-mail, nursing related CD ROMS and computer assisted learning packages specifically designed for nursing students. Nursing related Internet sites are added to favourites. A laser printer is available for student use.
Staff are available to assist students in the Learning Resource Centre and Computer Laboratory. Both areas open 0830 - 1630 Monday to Friday

Wards / Laboratories
The two fully equipped wards each of six beds are used for formal clinical teaching and simulated clinical/ward shifts. Telephones are available to assist students in learning to communicate with relatives, medical and hospital staff.
Clinical Skills Laboratory (12D20)
The Clinical Skills Laboratory has stations set up at all times to allow nursing students to practise basic skills at their own pace. Stations include aseptic dressing technique, injection technique, positioning a patient in bed and intravenous therapy.
Resuscitation Laboratory (12B20)
This facility is set up at all times for basic cardio-pulmonary resuscitation teaching and practice. The Laboratory may be booked by nursing students who need to update this skill.
Critical Care Laboratory (12B32)
The Critical Care Laboratory is used for teaching simulated cardiac arrest management and advanced cardiac life support.
Midwifery Laboratory
This Laboratory contains models and teaching and learning resources relating to midwifery.
