Dr Martinez-Marroquin holds a B.Sc in Telecommunications Engineering and a M.Sc. and PhD in Electronic Engineering. She complemented her degrees with executive education in Project Management and Management Skills; and with specialization education with a Master in Computer Vision and a Master in Signal and Information Theory and Processing.
She was Assistant Professor from 1996-01 and Associate Professor from 2001-11 at La Salle School of Engineering (Ramon Llull University). There she served as Director of Section for 8 years, during which she led the creation of the Multimodal Processing Research Group and the associated Technology Transfer Area, which were accredited for their quality. She then became the director of the Master of Research in IT and Management, of which she has been in charge for 4 years. She has been Director of the MSc in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Barcelona School of Management and associate professor at TecnoCampus School of Engineering (UPC) in 2012. She is currently Assistant Professor in the Faculty of ESTeM at the University of Canberra.
Dr. Martinez-Marroquin is the author of a patent and her research contributions have been published in international journals and conferences. She has participated in 20 research projects of which she has coordinated 9, and has led 10 technology transfer projects. She holds the PRINCE2 International Accreditation in Project Management. She has been visiting researcher at the University of Oxford in 1997 and Visiting Senior Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore in 2011.
