Welcome

The Faculty of Education fosters a vibrant and collaborative research culture. Our work involves conducting, supporting and collaborating on research in education and community development, with particular emphases on research that responds to changing educational, community and professional needs, and fosters social justice, inclusion, innovation and sustainability by undertaking timely research that informs practice.

Members of the Faculty of Education work from a multidisciplinary base to generate research-informed understandings of significant questions, problems and issues that affect the quality of peoples lives and learning opportunities in a variety of local, state and territory, national and international educational and community contexts and settings. Members also reflect critically on the quality of their own practices as researchers and teachers.

Our Vision

The Faculty of Education will be recognised nationally and internationally for research in education and community development that fosters social justice, inclusion, innovation and sustainability. We will foster scholarship, creativity and innovation in staff and higher degree research students to undertake its work by:

  • Developing strategic research partnerships
  • Building research capability
  • Increasing research outputs in targeted research programs
  • Increasing research quality and impact
  • Increasing resources
