Language courses

School of Languages, International Studies and Tourism

The Faculty of Communication and International Studies is truly multidisciplinary and has a strong international focus. Students from all over the world study:

The TESOL program offers courses in teaching English to speakers of other languages and customised language programs are provided for individuals or groups of professionals who want to learn English for studies or for future careers.

The BA International Studies produces graduates with well developed intercultural communication skills and a broad-based understanding of cultural diversity.

We have a state of the art, student friendly learning centre where students can study using computers, videos, DVDs, audio equipment or tune in via satellite link to international television broadcasts.  Alternatively they sit quietly and read newspapers and/or magazines or just discuss their studies with fellow students.

There is a very strong research culture within the Faculty. Our staff are actively involved in research in their areas of specialisation and attract research students into both PhD and masters programs, a high proportion of whom are international students.

We invite you to explore our Faculty website and to make contact with the various course conveners for further information about your own areas of interest.
