Abstract
Reforestation Fund (RF)is significantly beneficial to distribute income to forest-dependent people in Indonesia. Number of forest-dependent people is quite high. According to socio-economic data released by Indonesian’s National Statistic, during 2001 to 2010, around 40% of the population depends on forest. Current law on Reforestation Fund (RF) aims to increase forest-dependent people income by involving people on Reforestation and Re-greening activity. This paper intends to theorize the effectiveness of governmental transfer to local forest-dependent people. The effectiveness is measured based on forest cover, realization of RF data in district and province level, critical land, area of watershed, and number of forest dependent people. The Lorenz curve is used to measure the distribution and wealth of RF to each district.
Potential Implication for Policy Reform or Management Practices:
Governmental transfer process and procedure of Reforestation fund within forestry institution and local institution
