MIB
Master of International Business ( 726AA )
The Master of International Business (MIB) is based on coursework. It is aimed at graduates interested in business training in the context of a globalised business environment. The MIB recognises the emergence of an international trade culture at all levels of business activity and that a managers qualifications and competencies need to have the same international dimension. The program of study is designed to develop core business management skills and to provide the opportunity for more advanced studies concentrating on international aspects of trade. On completion of the program, graduates will have acquired the financial, marketing and people skills essential to the management role in a globally competitive business environment; advanced knowledge and understanding of the current dynamics in international business; and the ability to apply such knowledge to the operational mechanisms of international trade within its legal and ethical framework. The MIB provides graduates with a framework for developing a successful international business strategy and is suitable for business professionals, line managers, government advisers, consultants and those with international interests.
Course Duration
3 4 semesters full-time or equivalent part-time.
Admission Requirements
Applicants should possess an undergraduate degree or equivalent as approved by the Universitys Admissions Committee. Applicants who have successfully completed the Graduate Diploma in International Business are eligible for admission.

Satisfactory completion of at least 36 credit points of study comprising:

- Accounting for Managers G (6221)
- Marketing G (6261)
- Economics for Managers G (6234)
- International Business G (6241)
- Business Finance PG (6224)
- International Marketing PG (6244) OR International HRM PG (6243)
- International Financial Management PG (6242)
- International Trade Law PG (6245)
- Strategic Management PG (6277)
- Two elective units at G or PG Level*
* Students who have not completed a unit in statistics at tertiary level, must undertake Statistical Analysis & Decision Making G as one of their elective units.
Students who have completed an undergraduate degree with defined major areas of study, may with the approval of the course convenor, substitute a relevant unit at G or PG level.

When selecting units students should plan their study program in a sequence that meets all pre-requisites for PG units. For example, before undertaking the unit, International Financial Management PG, students should first complete Statistical Analysis & Decision Making G and Business Finance PG. Also, the former is a prerequisite for the latter. Students may undertake both International Marketing PG and International HRM PG by doing one as a core unit and the other as an elective unit. HRM or HRM G is a prerequisite for IHRM.
Graduate Diploma in International Business ( 727AA )
The Graduate Diploma in International Business (GDIB) is designed to provide a strong theoretical and practical introduction to international business. It focuses on developing the knowledge and decision-making skills required to develop successful international business strategies by providing students with a sound understanding of the disciplines of accounting & finance, marketing, managing people, economics, data analysis and international business. Elective subjects provide the opportunity to extend this knowledge base. Completion of the Diploma enables progression to the Masters in International Business.
Course Duration
2 semesters full-time or equivalent part-time.
