MBA International Students
Introduction
The major goal of the graduate business awards at the University of Canberra is to educate participants in general management concepts and skills and their application and hence to enable them to manage more effectively and responsibly in a challenging and changing business environment.
Significant graduate outcomes include:
- an ability to plan and manage successfully in an increasingly complex and turbulent national and international environment, but within the framework of societal values;
- a high level of analytical, problem solving and communication skills;
- a creative, innovative and ethical approach in seeking new business opportunities; and

Master of Business Administration (723)
The Master of Business Administration (MBA) is designed to develop and enhance the management competencies of current and future business leaders locally, nationally and globally. In addition to developing competencies in the core management areas of accounting & finance, marketing, managing people, economics, data analysis and understanding the international business environment, there is a focus on ethical and strategic decision making. There is also the opportunity to study elective subjects in areas of special interest.
The MBA is based on coursework and is designed to enable practicing managers and other professionals to transfer learning immediately to the workplace. The broad aim of the course is offer individuals aspiring to general management or senior functional management roles, the opportunity to develop competencies relevant to the effective management of enterprises.
Course Duration
3 4 semesters full-time or equivalent part-time.
Admission Requirements
Applicants should possess an undergraduate degree or equivalent as approved by the Universitys Admissions Committee and have at least two years relevant work experience. Applicants who have successfully completed the Graduate Diploma in Business Administration are eligible for admission.

- Three elective units at G or PG
*Students who have successfully completed a unit in statistics at tertiary level may be granted permission to substitute Statistical Analysis & Decision Making G with an additional elective unit. Students who have completed an undergraduate degree with defined major areas of study, may with the approval of the course convener, substitute a relevant unit at G or PG level.

When choosing electives, students should plan their study program in a sequence that meets all pre-requisites for PG subjects. For example, students wishing to undertake the elective subject, International Financial Management PG should elect Statistical Analysis & Decision Making G and Business Finance PG early in their program of study.

Graduate Diploma in Business Administration (724)
The Graduate Diploma in Business Administration (GDBA) is designed to introduce managers and future managers to the core functions of management and business administration. It focuses on developing the skills and abilities required to lead and manage in complex, global and changing business environments. It enables career progression from specialist-based positions to middle and senior level managerial positions in both the public and private sectors. Completion of the Diploma enables progression to a Masters of Business Administration (MBA).
Course Duration
2 semesters full-time or equivalent part-time.
Admission Requirements
Applicants should possess an undergraduate degree or equivalent as approved by the University's Admissions Committee.
