Bachelor of Management (394AA)

[Information for students seeking to commence study at the University of Canberra from Semester 1, 2012]

ABOUT THE COURSE

The Bachelor of Management combines management studies with studies of the broader social and political context in which contemporary managers work, thus meeting the demand by employers for graduates who combine strong specialisations that provide core skills in critical thinking, interpreting data, communication, leadership and teamwork.

Students choose one of four 'restricted' major sequences of study in the areas of Public Sector Management; Government & Politics; Management, Governance & Policy; or Entrepreneurial Management.

Students may complete an optional internship unit in the final year of study and most students also have the option to complete a semester of study at an international partner institution through the study abroad program. This program provides a strong degree of flexibility through the ability to choose an optional 'open' major from more than 50 fields across all 7 faculties of the university.

LENGTH OF STUDY

The Bachelor of Management is typically studied over 3 years full time (or an equivalent period part time). Students commencing in Semester 1 have the option of completing a 2.5 year accelerated program through study in the optional winter term.
