[Information for students seeking to commence study at the University of Canberra from Semester 1, 2012]
ABOUT THE COURSE
The Bachelor of Finance provides strudents the opportunity to pursue either a Major in Banking & Financial Services or a Major in Financial Planning depending on their area of interest and career goals. Student receive a core training in skills critical to the modern financial services sector.
Students may complete an optional internship unit in the final year of study and most students also have the option to complete a semester of study at an international partner institution throught the study abroad program. This program provides a strong degree of flexibility throught the ability to choose an optional open major from more than 50 fields across all 7 faculties of the university.
LENGTH OF STUDY
The Bachelor of Finance is typically studied over 3 years full time (or an equivalent period part time). Students commencing in Semester 1 have the option of completing a 2.5 year accelerated program through study in the optional winter term.
DOUBLE DEGREE OPTIONS
The Bachelor of Finance can be combined with the Undergraduate Diploma in Languages (Chinese, Japanese or Spanish) in a 4 year program.
The university also offers a wide range of double degrees combining the similar Bachelor of Commerce (majoring in Banking & Financial Services OR Financial Planning) with a number of other courses.
