ABOUT THE COURSE

The Bachelor of Accounting is designed to meet the needs of students seeking accreditation with professional accounting associations in Australia. The program provides a strong dedicated focus on the key skills needed by professional accountants in areas specific to the accounting profession as well as key business skills such as critical thinking and research skills.

Students may complete an optional internship unit in the final year of study and most students also have the option to complete a semester of study at an international partner institution through the study abroad program. This program provides a strong degree of flexibility through the ability to choose an optional open major from more than 50 fields across all 7 faculties of the university.


ACCREDITATION

The Bachelor of Accounting is currently undergroing accreditation by CPA Australia and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia who already provide accreditation to our Bachelor of Commerce (majoring in Accounting) and Master of Professional Accounting courses.


LENGTH OF STUDY

The Bachelor of Accounting is typically studied over 3 years full time (or an equivalent period part time). Students commencing in Semester 1 have the option of completing a 2.5 year accelerated program through study in the optional winter term.


DOUBLE DEGREE OPTIONS

The Bachelor of Accounting can be combined with the Undergraduate Diploma in Languages (Chinese, Japanese or Spanish) in a 4 year program.

The university also offers a wide range of double degrees combining the similar Bachelor of Commerce (majoring in Accounting) with a number of other courses.
