Welcome to the Faculty of Business and Government at the University of Canberra.

Our mission is clear – we aspire to be the best business school in Australia focusing on learning and research with a primary focus on business-government relations, public policy debate and governance issues.

Being in Canberra, the national capital of Australia, we are ideally located to pursue our mission. Canberra is the focal point for engagement between the business community and government in Australia. We believe the Faculty of Business and Government is the best place in Australia to learn and research business, government and public policy issues. Our faculty are excellent teachers, who are committed to conducting leading edge research that contributes to advancement of knowledge in the areas of business and government.

The Faculty of Business and Government is among the ten best Australian universities in terms of learning and teaching outcomes as acknowledged by the Hon Julie Bishop, Minister for Education, Science and Training awarding $658,602 to the University of Canberra for the Learning and Teaching Performance Fund 2007 in Business, Law and Economics. Our graduates are employed in top ranked national companies as well as in Federal, State and local government departments and authorities. The excellent employment outcomes of our graduates are achieved because of the strong focus on the development of transferable skills in our academic programs that build a commitment to life-long learning, ethical behaviour and social responsibility.

The Faculty of Business and Government comprises five academic disciplines: Accounting, Banking and Finance; Economics; Government; Management and Marketing; and Tourism. There are a range of undergraduate and post-graduate degrees, diplomas and certificates available for study on campus in Canberra and at international locations in Singapore and China. Our programs draw on the expertise and support of leading practitioners in business and government to augment the skills and experience of our faculty. We are well connected to the professions where our graduates pursue their talents.

Our engagement is internationally oriented with students from over 80 countries studying at the University of Canberra. We engage with representatives of the Diplomatic Service based in Canberra from the many countries where our international students call home. The Faculty of Business and Government is a vibrant scholarly community focused on ensuring quality learning outcomes in a collegial environment.
