Michelle Dunne Breen
Teaching Fellow 
Michelle Dunne Breen worked as a journalist for more than 20 years (in Australia, Britain and Ireland) before joining the Faculty of Arts and Design in 2011 as a Teaching Fellow in journalism and communications. Her PhD research is looking at how the Australian media dealt with the Northern Territory Emergency Response 2007, between announcement and enactment. Michelle began a Masters of Arts in Communication (Research) at the University of Canberra in 2010 and upgraded to the PhD program in 2011. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Sociology and German (Mod. Hons.) from the University of Dublin, Trinity College, in 1991.
Dr. Glen Fuller
Assistant Professor 
Bio: Glen Fuller’s research focuses on the relation between media and enthusiasm, histories of specialist magazines, contemporary developments in media technologies and media philosophies. He has written widely on enthusiasm, media philosophies, moral panics, complexity and social relations, and car culture. He is also interested in genealogical accounts of the relation between popular specialist or niche media and the enthusiast markets and scenes that they service. Read more

Bio: Julie is an award winning journalism academic and broadcaster. She was the recipient of the 2005 Vice Chancellors Award for Teaching Excellence and received a national Carrick Award for Outstanding Contribution to Learning and Teaching in 2007. She's currently undertaking a PhD on Australian broadcasters reporting of Muslim women. Read more
Prof Matthew Ricketson

Bio: Matthew Ricketson is a journalist and academic who has worked on staff at The Age, The Australian and Time Australia magazine, among other publications, and has run the Journalism program at RMIT for 11 years. Unlike many journalism academics who come to the academy after finishing a career in the news media, Matthew has moved back and forth between the two in his career, which began at the local newspaper chain, Standard News, in Melbourne, in 1981.
