Bio: Dr Bethaney Turner is an Assistant Professor in International Studies at the University of Canberra. In a significant departure from her doctoral work on social revolutionary movements in Mexico, her current research explores the variety and complexity of the relationships between people and the food they grow, buy and consume. From local community gardens to global debates about food security, this research analyses the role food plays in the formation of subjectivities, practices of meaning – making and understandings of place. Read more

Bio: In January 2004 Auriol Weigold was appointed Course Convenor and Lecturer in the University of Canberras new BA International Studies. She had been a Visiting Research Fellow and part-time lecturer and tutor in the Division of Communication and Education since being awarded a PhD in Indo-British political history in 1997. Bio: Dr Takele Soboka Bulto studied for his PhD at Melbourne Law School, the University   of Melbourne, where he had been an Inaugural Teaching Fellow during 2009 and 2010 academic years. He took his LLB and MA Degree (International Relations) Degrees from Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia, and an LLM Degree in Human Rights and Democratisation in Africa from University of Pretoria, South Africa.

Previously, he was an Australian Research Council's Lauereate Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Centre for International Governance and Justice in the Regulatory Institutions Network (RegNet), Australian National University. He was a visiting lecturer at the Centre for Human Rights, University of Pretoria (South Africa). He also held a position of Part-time Assistant Professor at Addis Ababa University’s School of Law in Ethiopia.  Read more
