Global Studies and Sustainable Food Research Cluster

Sustainability Development and Food Security Research Cluster

(formerly the Global Studies and Sustainable Food Research Cluster)

The Sustainability Development and Food Security Research Cluster is a multi-disciplinary group who are exploring global issues, themes and debates around human security, food sustainability, food consumption, communication, gender and human rights.

They are analysing the socio-political and economic transformations of various processes and their impact on the development of communities, groups, states and society.

In the process they engage a wide range of perspectives including Government policy initiatives, industry practice and action in civil society with the aim of contributing to a more sustainable and socially just world.

The scholars in this Cluster encompass a range of traditional academic areas and hence they are able to provide a trans-discipline perspective in their dialogue with the public, private and not-for-profit sectors.

The Research themes for 2011 are International Development, Human Security, and Food Communities.
