Marketing Communication

 

Marketing communication is a strategic management function implemented as systematic, integrated and aligned organisational communication. It is integral to both internal and external communication and is practiced in all sectors; private, public and not-for-profit sectors. It has application in developed, emerging and under-developed economies,  and in under-developed economies, especially in social and health programs.


Who is it for?

Practitioners and students interested in careers in communication related areas undertake this area of study. They learn how to undertake research, plan, design and implement systematic, integrated and aligned communication strategies which include direct marketing, advertising, public relations, sales promotion and personal selling. Students in this program come from various professional backgrounds and from all sectors. 

Key Approaches

The key approach to this degree is to encourage application of theory to specific situations and cases. Within the learning outcomes of the units and assessments, students who are working are also encouraged to apply their knowledge to issues, cases and situations in the workplace. This facilitates in learning through linking theory, professional practice and curriculum.
