Global Processes, voluntary/involuntary human mobility and new forms of communication have connected the world in ways not known to us previously. These processes and new modes of communication across cultures and communities emphasize the need to appreciate diversity and understand the socio-economic and political processes in the developed and developing world.

Students have the option to learn Chinese; Spanish; Japanese as well as academic English. Students can also learn a different language at another institute in Australia or abroad. Bachelor of Arts in International Studies - Honours (922AA)

The Bachelor of Arts in International Studies (Honours) is a one-year degree available to high-performing graduates from the International Studies degree. With guidance from an academic supervisor, students undertake a major research project, culminating in the production of a 15 000-word dissertation. 

The Honours degree equips students with the skills necessary to prepare them for research or project-based employment and higher degrees by research.
