FIRST is produced each year by a group of students from the Arts and Design Faculty. By joining the FIRST Editorial Committee students gain valuable experience of the publication process. They call for submissions and undertake publicity; organise sponsorship to cover publication costs; assess submissions as members of the Readers Panel; edit and proofread copy; oversee the publication; and arrange the launch. The Editorial Committee is overseen and coordinated by a member of the Writing staff.

All students are eligible to become involved with the production of FIRST. They are also eligible to submit their work. All submissions are read blind.

The Editorial Committee is formed in the first few weeks of Semester 1 each year. If you would like to become a member of the FIRST team email your expression of interest to first@canberra.edu.au.
