The 2007 Enterprise Architecture (EA) Symposium was held at the University of Canberra on the 12th and 13th of November. It was a CAUDIT sponsored event and a follow on from the very successful EA Symposium held at CSU in 2006.

Theme: “Enterprise Architectures in Higher Education – Striking the Right Balance”
Balancing:
- Effort and Outcomes,
- IT and Business input,
- Strategy and Operations
Who attended?
27 Universities from Australia and New Zealand were represented at the Symposium.
The program was attended by 62 participants that included:
- EA staff
- Senior IT Staff
- Senior Business Staff - Academic and Corporate
The participants were those who were just interested, starting off, needed advice, just wanted to listen, wanted to discuss if it's worth the effort, had heard a lot of talk about EA or wanted to showcase special initiatives.
Aim
The aim of the symposium was to provide attendees with opportunities to:
- Take stock and gain new perspectives
- Showcase progress since last year
- Discuss value of EA to Universities
- Demonstrate best practice examples
- Network, build relationships and collaborate
Symposium Organisers
The 2007 Symposium organisers included Katarina Christenson (coordinator), Steve Foley, Associate Professor Craig McDonald, Dr Leah Moore, Dr Neil Lynch and Sheree Henley from the University of Canberra as well as Samantha Gilbert from the ANU and David Bedwell from Charles Sturt University.
