Here's how to get to University

Students

Even if you didn’t get an ATAR, or didn't get the ATAR you were hoping for, Don’t Panic! The University of Canberra is committed to making tertiary education more accessible to students with the desire and commitment to succeed.

The University of Canberra has a number of entry initiatives which provide flexible access into our undergraduate degrees. These pathways enable school-leavers and mature age applicants to participate in higher education. There is a University of Canberra pathway to suit each individual student.

Direct Entry

All University of Canberra bachelor degrees will have an ATAR cut off of 65 or above for entry in Semester 1 2012. Each individual bachelor degree cut off is based on the number of places available in that course and the number of applications that have been received and can be accommodated. School leavers who do not achieve the required ATAR for direct entry into their course of choice should consider the alternative entry programs below .

School leavers must apply and manage their preferences through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC).

New Diploma Programs

The University’s new diploma programs will provide new opportunities for students who want to study at University but also desire the practical skills and applied knowledge that is relevant to employers. The programs on offer can either be undertaken as a standalone qualification or as a pathway into a relevant Bachelor Degree at the University of Canberra. Students who successfully complete a Diploma will gain academic credit towards a linked Bachelors program.

Diplomas of International Studies, Science, Justice Studies, Design, and Business Informatics will be available in semester 1 2012.

A Diploma of Pharmacy and a Diploma of Accounting will be available in semester 2 2012.

In 2012 our Diploma programs will be delivered by the University of Canberra College.
