Invitation & RSVP
Students eligible for the September 2018 graduations should receive their invitation by the end of July 2018. If you do not receive an invitation by the specified time, please contact the Student Centre immediately.
Response to Invitations
After receiving your invitation you must do the following:
- Check that the spelling of your name and the wording of your award title are correct. Any requested changes/amendments to your name or award title must be resolved by 24th August 2018. Please note if you wish to change your name you may need to submit a Change of Name Form.
- Advise whether or not you intend to be present at the Graduation ceremony through the UC Reed Graduations portal. This is also where you can purchase tickets, gowning and photography packages.
If you are unable to attend your ceremony in September and wish to request to defer your graduation to the next ceremony round (ie. March/April 2019), you must email this request to the Student Centre by 24th August 2018. Students may only defer graduation for one ceremony round.
To celebrate your special day, immediately following your Ceremony, you and your guests are invited to an exclusive function with beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), canapés and entertainment.
Guests of graduates need to provide a copy of their ticket upon entry. Graduates enjoy immediate access.
Unable to Attend?
If you are unable to attend the ceremony, your award will be conferred in absentia.
Testamurs for students who have requested to confer in absentia will be available for collection from the Student Centre for the week following the graduation ceremonies. Students must present valid photo identification to collect their testamur. Students must also provide authorisation for someone to collect a testamur on their behalf.
Any uncollected testamurs will be sent via Courier in the weeks following the ceremonies. The Graduation Team will contact all graduates via University email and any non-University email registered on the system in order to confirm a suitable mailing address and contact telephone number (note that couriers cannot deliver to PO Boxes). The testamur cannot be posted until your address is confirmed, so please ensure you are monitoring your email account after the ceremony to avoid delays.
Your name will appear in the graduation booklet regardless of your attendance at the ceremony.
