Student Financial Support for Interstate Placement – WIL Bursary

There are a number of WIL opportunities offered in rural and metropolitan locations across Australia. If you are undertaking a mandatory interstate placement for your WIL experience, financial support is available. If eligible, you will receive financial support via the WIL bursary for costs incurred during your placement, including travel and accommodation.

For further information on the WIL bursary (financial support) and eligibility please check the guidelines below;

Travel and accommodation assistance may be awarded to eligible students required to undertake interstate work integrated learning (WIL) as part of their studies.

Pharmacy Guild of Australia (PGA) has provided funding to UC for students undertaking a course in Pharmacy.

The University has allocated funding from the Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) to provide support to eligible students undertaking mandatory interstate WIL (placements) not supported elsewhere.

To be eligible you must undertake a mandatory interstate placement for 3 or more weeks and provide the required documentation.

Pharmacy Guild of Australia (PGA) – Rural Pharmacy Student Placement Allowance

You may be eligible for Pharmacy Guild of Australia (PGA) funding if you are:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor Pharmacy or Masters of Pharmacy.
  • Undertaking placements in any part of Australia in an eligible PhARIA2+ setting (refers to classification of remoteness required for PGA support).
  • Attending placement of 1+ week duration
  • An Australian citizen or a permanent resident.

You may be eligible for UC funding if you are:

  • Currently enrolled in a;
    • Bachelor of Exercise Physiology and Rehabilitation
    • Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (Medical Imaging)
    • Bachelor of Nursing
    • Bachelor of Midwifery
    • Bachelor of Pharmacy
    • Bachelor of Physiotherapy
    • Graduate Diploma in Counselling
    • Master of Clinical Psychology
    • Master of Counselling
    • Master of Diagnostic Pathology
    • Master of Medical Imaging
    • Master of Midwifery
    • Master of Nutrition and Dietetics
    • Master of Pharmacy
    • Master of Physiotherapy
    • Master of Occupational Therapy
    • Master of Clinical Psychology
    • Dr of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology
  • Attending placement of 3+ weeks duration
  • UC funded support is available to both domestic and international students

One of the conditions for receiving support for your placement is the completion of a Placement report. The purpose of this report is to collate information on your placement that can inform University of Canberra’s planning of interstate placements, gain insight into the student experience and add to the information we have on the placement setting to assist other students who visit this location.
