2017 Orientation for research students

Semester 1, 2017 orientation for commencing masters by research and doctoral students will be held in February 2017.

Orientation is an opportunity for the University to welcome commencing Higher Degree Researchers (HDRs), share information about research degrees, and a chance for commencing research students to meet staff and colleagues.

Program

Tuesday 7 February
Venue: Ann Harding Conference Centre (UC Building 24)

8.30 – 9.30am Welcome breakfast (all Higher Degree Researchers and their supervisors are invited)

9.40am – 12.30pm Understanding and managing your research degree

1.30 – 4pm The Library as a starting point for your research, facilitated by UC Library

Wednesday 8 February
Venue: Ann Harding Conference Centre (UC Building 24)

10am – 12.30pm Making the best of research supervision, with Prof. David Marsh

1.30 – 3.30pm Research integrity and ethics

Tuesday 14 February
Venue: 11B50

5 – 6.30pm Orientation 'in a nutshell' – a summary for researchers who cannot make the daytime sessions.

Wednesday 22 February
Venue: Library Training Room 4 (UC Building 8)

10am – 12.30pm Working with EndNote X7
