Syllabus
This unit offers a history of ideas and their expression in design. Particular attention is paid to the interrelationship between form and culture and the broad social and environmental circumstances in which design responses arise.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:
1. Demonstrate a concise understanding of how design has evolved in historical and theoretical terms; and
2. Understand the impact of technological and aesthetic developments on design ideas.
