    Syllabus

    The unit will have two Module s, the nature of science and ethics. Each will be illustrated using case studies in sustainability and climate change, as appropriate.

    Learning Outcomes

    1. apply knowledge they have developed of the philosophies, methods and ethics of science to understand and analyse how science works; comprehend the two-way interactions of science and society, including the role of ethics in science;
    2. apply the skills of critical thinking, interpretation and analysis of data and demonstrate competency in arguments, discussions and written presentations of findings, and team work.
