    Syllabus

    This unit provides an overview of research methods for population groups. Frameworks for health demographic research will be applied to a range of 'real' scenarios from Australia and internationally. Students will develop an understanding of research approaches to gather data about population groups.

    Learning Outcomes

    1. describe government approaches to health data management
    2. identify common sources of monitoring and surveillance data for health outcomes
    3. select the appropriate research framework for a range of health issues in populations

    Four to six hours per week.

    Prerequisites

    Introduction to Statistics or equivalent.
