Syllabus
By drawing together the threads of this degree, this unit is designed to help students look towards their futures as they prepare for registration as a midwife. Curriculum content such as responsibility, career-long learning, professional reflexivity, research and technology, inter-professional rivalry and cooperation, race, gender, poverty and wealth, rural, remote, local and global health issues will be revisited in the context of the students as fully-fledged members of the global midwifery community.
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:
1. Demonstrate a developing understanding of the complexities and possibilities held within the shared world of childbearing and midwifery;
2. Critically reflect on philosophies and practices as they apply to the midwife; and
3. Demonstrate an understanding of local and global midwifery responsibility and practice.
